Job Summary

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a full‑time basis. As a PTA you will provide treatment and rehabilitative services to patients to improve mobility, relieve pain, and reduce disability under the direction of a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient education, including post‑care planning, proper use of supportive devices and equipment, and gait and functional training.
  • Record, monitor, analyze and review clinical data; provide feedback to the therapist regarding possible modifications to the treatment plan and goals based on patient performance; adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient.
  • Collaborate with patient service departments and community service agencies to coordinate and conduct educational outreach programs and learning activities.
  • Utilize appropriate methods and materials for effective learning, monitor response to education and adapt the program as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Clear and active State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license.
  • Current Functional Independence Measure (FIM) required.
  • Experience in an appropriate healthcare setting – inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Critical thinking and adaptability; service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; general PC skills.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
