As the Director of Nursing, you will lead nursing operations within Quest's Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) program, ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective clinical oversight. You'll lead a team of nurses, partner with healthcare providers and families, and help deliver person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing clinical oversight, team development, and operational excellence in a mission-driven environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee all clinical and nursing operations for an ICF/IDD residential program.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing leadership and nursing staff, including performance management and coaching.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, Medicaid, and Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regulations and support survey readiness.
  • Partner closely with site leadership, interdisciplinary teams, physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacies, laboratories, consultants, and other external providers.
  • Serve as a liaison for guardians, family members, and healthcare partners while fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure high standards of care, documentation, medication management, and infection prevention practices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, annual reviews, admissions, and discharge planning.
  • Oversee nursing schedules, coverage plans, supply management, and clinical operations across the program.
  • Support a 24/7 care environment through participation in a rotating on-call schedule and provide leadership during emergencies or staffing challenges.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, communication, person-centered care, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or management experience supervising clinical staff.
  • Experience in a long-term care, residential care, skilled nursing, hospital, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, healthcare documentation, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to participate in a rotating on‑call schedule and respond to operational and clinical needs as required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites, hospitals, and meetings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or within an ICF setting.
  • Prior experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager, Unit Manager, or similar nursing leadership role.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and overseeing regulatory surveys, audits, and plans of correction.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with external vendors, providers, consultants, guardians, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, solve problems proactively, and influence positive outcomes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with transfers and positioning of individuals, including use of adaptive equipment when needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and manage exposure to typical healthcare settings, including bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, operate clinical and office equipment, and maintain accurate documentation.
