Kidz Art is a nationally recognized drawing enrichment program designed to build kids' confidence and inspire creativity. Classes are available for children in grades K-6.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a part‑time Teaching Artist to instruct after‑school classes beginning in mid‑August for the 2016/2017 school year. Classes are held immediately after school at the schools and require approximately 1½‑2 hours per class (normally 2:00 pm‑4:00 pm). An instructor will lead one class per day, 2‑4 classes per week, Monday‑Thursday, depending on the school's schedule.
Job Duties- Provide a safe environment for kids.
- Follow curriculum guidelines (provided) to deliver drawing‑based instruction that allows children to produce original, representational art.
- Set up and clean up after class.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively by email and in person.
- Keep materials clean and organized.
We will provide certification training (late July or early August) covering teaching the Kidz Art drawing method.
QualificationsArt skills are preferred but the primary criteria are a bright personality, love of kids, and ability to manage an energetic class.
Location & AvailabilityPositions are available in Rankin County Elementary Schools. Because the role is part‑time, applicants must live near the school area; all other applicants will not be considered.
