About the Agency: The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low-income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled.
About the Position: This is first level of supervisory program audit work. Work involves performing increasingly complex desk and field audits to ascertain facts regarding agency programs. The work involves all levels of complexity as well as managing an audit team. Supervision is broad, allowing for a supervisor who is available for guidance and support. The Program Auditor Team Leader is accountable for applying accepted audit procedures and evaluation of potential fraud, waste, and abuse.
In addition, team leaders may be called upon to testify in court or administrative hearings. They are involved in training and maintaining a competent audit team. Audits are performed as required by the Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waiver programs as approved by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, State Plan, Code of Federal Regulations, Affordable Care Act, and the Mississippi Administrative Code.
Other audits may be performed as directed.
What you'll need to be Successful: Must demonstrate proficiency in all elements of audits, including development, testing, reporting, and assessment of corrective action plans. Must communicate effectively with audit team, management, and Medicaid providers, addressing issues at the appropriate level in a timely manner with completeness and accuracy. Must be able to train and maintain a competent audit team.
Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience are typically required. Hiring agency preferred qualifications:
