PACT MSO has a Central Business Office located in Branford that is seeking an IT Specialist. The position will be primarily in Branford but will support multiple office locations within the company. The position is full time Monday through Friday with a schedule to be determined.
SummaryThis position manages and maintains the company’s hybrid on-premises and cloud computing environment. The incumbent will serve as a technical leader, while overseeing critical infrastructure including Microsoft 365, Azure cloud services, Active Directory, network infrastructure, and end-user computing devices.
Essential Functions- Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure:
Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure resources including Azure AD/Entra , and hybrid connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments - Directory & Identity Management:
Administer Windows Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra ), including user provisioning, group policies, conditional access policies, and single sign-on implementations - Network Infrastructure:
Install, configure, and maintain network services including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, and other network devices following organizational and industry standards - Email & Communications:
Manage Microsoft Exchange Server (on-premises and hybrid), ensuring reliable mail flow, security, backup, and disaster recovery protocols - End-User Computing:
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain all user devices including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, video conferencing equipment, and related operating systems - VoIP & Communications:
Support Voice over IP systems including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance - Incident Response:
Respond to user requests and IT incidents with professionalism and urgency; diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems - Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and asset inventory; support compliance and security standards - Service Management:
Log and track all IT incidents and requests via service desk systems; provide first-class customer service to all stakeholders
- Windows Active Directory
- Firewall management (Fortinet/enterprise)
- Network design (VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- VPN and site-to-site connectivity
- Wireless access point deployment
- Windows Server (IIS, RDS)
- Linux fundamentals (Ubuntu/Debian)
- Virtualization (Proxmox, VMware or Hyper-V)
- VoIP systems (SIP, telephony)
- Excellent typing skills
- Strong knowledge of how databases work
- Good customer service skills
- 10+ years supporting end-user computing devices (desktops, laptops, printers, phones)
- 10+ years administering Windows Server and Active Directory
- 5+ years with Azure and/or hybrid cloud infrastructure
- 5+ years managing network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routing, VPNs)
- Experience with IT service management tools
- Bachelor’s degree in IT preferred
- High School diploma required
