  • Manage book intake, storage, and distribution in the warehouse.
  • Meet weekly with the Program Director to share updates on inventory, priorities, and program needs.
Volunteers & Warehouse Support

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and supportive volunteer environment.
Community Partnerships & Outreach
  • Build new partnerships and maintain strong relationships with existing community partners.
  • Communicate regularly with partners to understand community needs and coordinate book distributions.
  • Represent Read to Grow at workshops, tabling events, and community events across Connecticut.
Read to Grow Events & Program Support
  • Coordinate two Books to Go events per fiscal year.
  • Support planning and coordination of biannual Family Day events.
  • Assist with book drives organized by community partners.
  • Work closely with the other Books for Kids Co‑Coordinator to share responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and ensure coverage.
  • Support cross-program collaboration that advances Read to Grow’s mission and commitment to literacy access.
  • Take on additional tasks as needed to support the team and organization.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in early childhood education, literacy, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working directly with families strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of children’s and young adult literature and literacy development, which may include experience selecting, organizing, or recommending books for children
  • Ability to safely lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
Skills & Qualities:
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable using technology for tracking, communication, and coordination
