Utility Clerk

• Utility Billing:
  Process monthly water, sewer, and trash readings, print or email bills, and apply standard city rates and late fees.
• Customer Service:
  Answer citizen phone calls, greet visitors, set up new utility accounts, and process service disconnects or transfers.
• Payment Processing:
  Collect cash, checks, or card payments, balance the daily cash drawer, and prepare bank deposits.
• Record Keeping:
  Maintain accurate digital ledgers, update customer files, and generate collection reports for delinquent accounts.
• Administrative Support:
  Assist the City Clerk with phone coverage, basic filing, processing business licenses, and manage community center rentals
• Accounts payable/receivable:
  Check mail and email for monthly bills, write checks, provide disbursement list for board meetings, mail bills and record and maintain all records for payables and receivables.

Skills: Basic math, data entry, ten-key calculator proficiency, and clear phone communication and software knowledge preferred.

Experience: Prior office, bookkeeping, or cash-handling experience preferred.
