The role of the Parking Lot Attendant is to assist passengers with safely and efficiently parking their vehicles in a manner that minimizes risk of damage and capitalizes on the use of limited parking space in our parking lot. This is a fast-paced job that requires a lot of movement and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is outgoing, energetic, and friendly;
someone who doesn't mind hard work outdoors, assisting customers in a professional and cheerful manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a professional and courteous first point of contact for passengers upon arrival to our property
- Handle cash and credit card transactions from paid parking lots
- Answer general questions for customers about train departures and travel expectations
- Direct passengers to assigned parking spaces, making sure to fully utilize the limited area of the parking lot and direct passengers to boarding areas
- Close and/or move gates, barricade, safety cones, safety chains, as necessary
- Assist with keeping the parking lot clean of trash, debris
- Fill out appropriate paperwork as required by supervisor/manager
- Communicate with management regarding any safety concerns
- Put your safety and the safety of our guests first and foremost
Experience:
- Ability to think on your feet, making quick and accurate decisions regarding customer safety and parking
- Experience in providing excellent customer service to passengers
- Money Handling
- Ability to multitask and problem solve
- Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal English.
- Varied work environment with a majority of time spent outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Long periods spent standing, walking, or moving on uneven ground around railyard and railroad equipment.
