Under the direction of the RN or LPN, the PCA assists in individualized patient care to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non‑clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.
Position Details- Education:
High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPTC, enrollment in a healthcare career program, or current Mercy co‑worker. - Licensure: (none required).
- Experience:
None required. - State of Practice: 175‑hour training program to meet Department of Health and Senior Services requirements; must be completed within 90 days of hire.
- Certifications:
BLS required within one month of hire; completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire. - Preferred
Certifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). - Physical Requirements:
Push, pull, or lift 50 pounds; prolonged standing and walking; ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
