ResponsibilitiesThe ED nurse provides professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages. The responsibilities include triaging and determining priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs, rapidly assessing patients, prioritizing care, stabilizing patients, initiating treatment, discharging patients after the emergency is over or arranging for a longer hospital stay.
Qualifications- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program (preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing)
- Experience: Preferred:
Previous nursing experience - Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; effective leadership; time management; critical thinking/problem solving; flexibility and ability to work in a multi‑tasking environment
- Licensure/Certification: RN license active in Missouri; BLS within 90 days; ACLS within 1 year; PALS within 1 year; ENPC within 12 months (primary RN for emergent pediatric care); TNCC within 12 months (primary RN in trauma care); NRP within 1 year, renew every 2 years
Those with qualifying credentials will have priority for the position.
