Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Resort Facilities Maintenance Technician 2 to join our dynamic Resort Operations team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the resort's facilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. This position offers a variety of responsibilities, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and responding to guest requests with efficiency and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, make repairs, and replace fixtures and piping as needed.
  • Diagnose, replace, and repair minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair appliances and household fixtures.
  • Understand HVAC systems and perform basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texturing, painting, and caulking.
  • Repair or replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as required.
  • Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning tasks.
  • Participate actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for work.
  • Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems).
  • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery‑powered tools required for the job.
  • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Follow safety guidelines and practices.
  • Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property.
  • Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution.
  • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands‑on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license as required by the resort.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is required.
  • Must be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
  • Strong communication skills required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
  • Must communicate effectively with supervisors and resort leadership.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
