Job Summary:

As a Ride Mechanic/Machinist,you willbe responsible fortheaccurateproduction of assigned projects with machining toolsand equipment to produce metal and plastic components for a wide range of equipment.

The Ride Machinist must be detail-oriented,accurate and safe while performing daily tasks.

Also, you willberesponsible for preventive and corrective maintenance for allassignedrides and/or attractions at Silver Dollar City.

Our guests travel from all around the country to experience our internationally awarded 1880s-style theme park with over 40 thrilling rides and attractions.

These range from family-friendly attractions to record-breaking roller coasters!

Qualifications:

• Set up, adjust,maintainandoperatelathe, milling machine and all basic machine toolsin order toperform precision machining operations.
• Takes precise measurements for cutting and shaping of projects.
• Calculate tolerances or dimensions, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
• Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Maintainsa safe and cleanwork areaat all times.
• Worksfrom work orders, blueprints,chartsand verbal instructions to fabricate a wide variety of standard andspecialcomponentparts of above average complexity.
• Must have the abilityto read and understand complex multi-view blueprints.
• Responsible for the inspection and preventive/corrective maintenance of individual or groups of rides and/or other attractions.
• Assistin weekly, monthly,semi-annualand annual maintenance requirements per the Ride Manufacturer’s instructions and SDC’s internal procedures.
• Respond to downtime,repairand ride recovery issuesimmediatelyupon notification.
• Troubleshooting and repair of assigned mechanical,electrical and special effects on rides and/or attractions.
• Utilize manuals,technicaldrawingsand other forms of documentation to perform the tasks above.
• Document all work performed on a ride/attraction into the company’sComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including but not limitedto:inspections, corrective actions,log bookentriesand any other applicable information required by the Silver Dollar City Log Book Procedure.
• Effectively communicate with others on your team,other maintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership.
• Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively withothermaintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
• Must be able towork days, evenings, weekdays,weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to read, write,comprehendinstructionsand communicate in English.
• Must have or be able to obtain andmaintaina Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Must have a strong attention to detail,accuracy and safety.
• Must havebasicunderstanding of general maintenance equipment.
• Must have excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must beto add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractionsand decimals.

• 1 year of previous machinist experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and/or machinist…
