Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) Vermont
Seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician to join a collaborative, patient-centered care team serving a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Position Details:
Provide inpatient medical care including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care
Coordinate treatment plans and facilitate transitions of care
Order and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic studies
Document patient care thoroughly within the EMR
Respond to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response events
Provide ventilator management
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, hospital committees, and quality improvement initiatives
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and follow-up
Practice Environment:
Collaborative team including specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, Emergency Medicine physicians, and ancillary staff
Specialty backup available; no procedural responsibilities required
Community hospital setting focused on compassionate, high-quality care
Requirements:
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Active Vermont medical license or ability to obtain
DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications required
Experience with ventilator management and running codes required
Hospitalist experience and rural healthcare experience preferred
Clean malpractice history and recent NPDB self-query required
