General Surgeon Opportunity Brattleboro, Vermont
Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon to join a collaborative surgical team in a community hospital setting. This position provides comprehensive surgical services across inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and wound care settings.
Position Details:
Provide broad-spectrum general surgery care in hospital and clinic environments
Perform common procedures including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, endoscopy, colorectal procedures, small bowel obstruction management, and skin/soft tissue surgeries
Evaluate and treat acute and chronic wounds within a multidisciplinary Wound Clinic
Collaborate with anesthesiology, CRNAs, physician assistants, perioperative teams, emergency department clinicians, hospitalists, and wound care specialists
Educate patients and families on surgical care, risks, benefits, and post-operative recovery
Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing professional development
Provide surgical consultation for palliative care, pain management, and end-of-life planning
Requirements:
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
Active Vermont medical license
Active DEA (required prior to start)
CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
Demonstrated proficiency in general surgical procedures
Clean malpractice history
Current NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation

Position is not open to locum or locum-to-permanent candidates

Full-time employed position within a supportive community hospital environment
