Overview:
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), a 61-bed nonprofit community hospital committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Physician to join its collaborative medical team. This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to serve a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, within a supportive and mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care including admissions, daily patient rounding, and discharge planning.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring evidence-based, high-quality care.
• Collaborate effectively with specialists, primary care providers, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, anesthesiology providers, and emergency medicine teams to coordinate patient care.
• Lead multidisciplinary care planning, ensuring seamless transitions of care across departments.
• Order, interpret, and respond to laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures to inform clinical decision-making.
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response situations, with appropriate interventions.
• Manage ventilator support and oversee respiratory therapy as needed.
• Participate in clinical rounds, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care to promote understanding and compliance.
• Contribute to hospital committees and performance evaluations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and institutional policies.

• MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Valid and active medical license in the state of Vermont or eligible for licensure.
• Certification or eligibility for ACLS and BLS.
• DEA registration.
• J1 Visa sponsorship required; candidates must be willing to work exclusively at this location with no more than one hour commuting distance.
• Prior inpatient/hospital medicine experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a rural setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Salary Range: $300,000 - $350,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
