About the Position

Position Overview
As a Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO), you will:
Provide comprehensive inpatient care including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care
Respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations
Provide ventilator management
Order, interpret, and manage labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
Collaborate closely with specialists, emergency physicians, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
Coordinate smooth transitions of care and discharge planning
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow-up care
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality initiatives, and hospital committees
Maintain timely and accurate EMR documentation
No procedures required.
Specialty backup available (including surgeons for central lines, respiratory therapy, EM physicians, and CRNAs).
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $300,000 – $350,000 annually
Based on experience, board status, education, and market factors

Candidate Requirements
MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Active Vermont Medical License
DEA (must be obtained prior to start – no exceptions)
BLS & ACLS Certifications
Ventilator management experience
Experience running codes
Clean malpractice history
Most recent NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days at time of presentation)
Highly Preferred:
2–3 years of Hospitalist experience
Rural health experience
Additional Notes:
