Description:

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Medical Group is seeking a full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible MD/DO General Surgeon to join its collaborative surgical team in Brattleboro, Vermont, providing comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and wound care services in a supportive community hospital setting.

Job  General Surgeon  comprehensive surgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings

Perform common general surgical procedures  repair

Cholecystectomy Endoscopy Appendectomy Management  of small bowel obstruction

Colorectal surgery

Skin and soft tissue surgical procedures

Deliver evaluation and management of acute and chronic wounds within the multidisciplinary Wound Clinic model

Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of surgical conditions

Exercise advanced operative skills and strong clinical judgment

Collaborate closely  Assistants Perioperative and peri-anesthesia teams

Emergency Department clinicians

Hospitalists

Wound Clinic team Educate patients and families  procedures

Risks and benefits

Post-operative care plans

Review diagnostic test results and address abnormalities

Offer surgical input  care

Pain management

End-of-life decision support

Participate in departmental meetings

Engage in ongoing professional development and training activities

Maintain compliance with OSHA Category I standards (blood borne pathogen precautions)

Compensation and  Salary: $285,000 $ 320,000 annually

Determined based on experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness

Additional productivity-based monetary incentives

Compensation structured in compliance with Vermont Act 155
