Job Summary

Under general supervision of the HR Director, the HR Generalist is a customer-centered role supporting all levels of employees. The HR Generalist will be an active member of the overall HR team and will provide support for all ongoing projects and initiatives. This position also ensures that all HR related processes and documentation are in compliance with internal policies as well as state and federal laws.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field and three (3) years of direct human resources experience required.
  • Previous experience working in a highly regulated environment as an HR Generalist preferred.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft office products and HRIS knowledge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Core Competencies:

Supports the Human Resources (HR) team with employee record administration, compliance with laws, training, interviewing, and special projects while providing policy guidance and interpretation to employees, as the HR Generalist.

  • Assists in day-to-day employee management, supports HR compliance initiatives, and helps reduce legal risks to ensure compliance.
  • Develops and maintains employee relationships at all levels of the organization, from frontline to senior management.
  • Processes education verifications, criminal checks, licensures, etc. Closely monitors criminal background checks to ensure timely returns from agencies.
  • Creates new employee files and maintains files on all employees. To maintain system integrity, conducts monthly (or more frequent) audits of the system on the following: background checks, performance evaluations, new hires and transfers, job appointment and grades, job class and data control.
  • Maintains the employee evaluation process and compliance with; notifies managers of timelines; accurately tracks delinquencies; reports delinquency results.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to measures for Joint Commission accreditation. Supports continuous improvement in compliance processes.
  • Updates and maintains organization-wide job descriptions system.
  • Processes employment changes with regards to effective dates.
  • Stays current with HR trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
  • Completes filing and organizing HR paperwork/forms not generated by other HR staff. Regularly files to maintain up-to-date information in the employee files.
