Position OverviewField Service Technician – Northeast Region. You will perform all tasks related to installing, assembling, servicing, and repairing Aerzen products. You are also responsible for providing customers with prompt, professional, and high‑quality service. Work is performed at our location and/or at our customer’s location. Services may be scheduled or on‑demand. Overnight travel on short notice is often required.
Position Responsibilities- Approximately 100% travel, often four nights away weekly, continuously covering the Northeast Region (NY, NJ, CT & MA).
- Perform startups, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance on all Aerzen products at customer sites; represent Aerzen professionally following all safety requirements.
- Install, configure, calibrate and maintain control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital); install and terminate electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections; understand control narratives and troubleshoot process‑application issues.
- Analyze and correct communication issues, properly address TCP/IP networks and RS‑485 communications.
- Repair and assemble Aerzen products; disassemble, assess damage, evaluate failures on machines, diagnose problems using material condition and customer questions; offer machine‑based recommendations; identify root cause of machine failures; use defined procedures and standard rebuild kit.
- Read, understand and use equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other documentation to perform service tasks, assembly and repairs.
- Communicate with customers to discuss job requirements, provide recommendations and service options, listen to concerns, and provide status updates during service calls and at completion.
- Assist engineering in plant design, modifications and hazard analysis.
- Complete written repair reports documenting cause of failure, work performed, materials consumed, condition of equipment as received and returned.
- Conduct customer training on Aerzen products when onsite.
- High school diploma or associate degree in electronics technology or a related field; 5+ years of field experience may substitute for degree.
- Over 4 years of field service and repair experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams (dimensions, assembly, electrical).
- Proficiency with micrometer, dial indicator, feeler gauges, coordinate measuring tools, forklift, ladder, hand tools, power tools, welding, calibrated measurement devices, hydraulic equipment.
- Clean driving record.
