We are seeking a full‑time Nurse Practitioner to enhance our Urology practice in Brattleboro, Vermont. The successful candidate will support a collaborative surgical team focused on the evaluation, treatment, and long‑term management of patients with urologic disorders within an established physician office framework.
Job Overview- Collaborate with the Urology surgeon to diagnose and manage urologic conditions.
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments, synthesizing clinical findings.
- Design and implement individualized treatment and care plans.
- Order, conduct, and analyze diagnostic tests pertinent to urologic conditions.
- Assist in urologic surgeries and related office‑based procedures.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, procedural expectations, and treatment regimens.
- Oversee post‑operative care and manage follow‑up protocols.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, nursing staff, and clinical personnel.
- Comply with universal precautions and adhere to OSHA blood borne pathogen standards.
- Work in an environment that may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases.
- Execute tasks necessitating manual dexterity, patient handling skills, and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with LPNs, medical assistants, and administrative staff to support departmental operations.
- Practice under the supervision of a physician within the office setting.
- Prior exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases is required.
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts (up to 33% of the time).
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals (up to 33% of the time).
- Noise levels may range from quiet to moderate.
- Engagement in tasks with potential exposure to blood borne pathogens mandates adherence to universal precautions.
- Master’s degree from an accredited Adult Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active Vermont APRN License.
- A minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in Urology.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.
- DEA License.
- Recent NPDB Self‑Query Report (within the last 30 days and active).
- ANCC Certification.
- Valid State License.
Vermont‑specific additional requirements:
Eligible for hospital medical staff credentialing and recognition by the Vermont State Board of Nursing for national APRN certification (preferred).
