The LPN practices under the direction and supervision of the physician/nurse practitioner (NP) and within the scope of practice defined by the State Board of Nursing. Contributes to the physician's/NP assessment of office patients and assists the physician/NP as needed with treatment and education of the patient. Under the clinical supervision of the physician/NP, and the administrative direction of the practice manager, demonstrates the ability to perform procedures in the office setting.
Dept.Scope of Service
The SVHSC/BMH-owned or managed physician practices provide medical services in various specialties and offices including family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, cardiology, orthopedics, urology, and general surgery. The practices are staffed by physicians and other licensed providers who are supported by clinical staff (LPNs or medical assistants) and clerical staff (receptionists, transcriptionists, file clerks). Hours vary by practice.
Qualifications- Education: Graduate from an NLN accredited school for Licensed Practice Nursing.
- Experience: One or more years of experience in a doctor's office setting required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed Practical Nurse, State of Vermont.
- Certified in CPR.
- Mental Efforts:

- Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers or symbols accurately.
- Requires the use of office equipment, such as typewriter, computer terminal, telephone copier, facsimile.
