Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) travel assignment in Brattleboro, Vermont.
Start date:
July 20, 2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,390 to $2,501 per week; guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12‑hour nights. Set in a hospital‑based Birthing Center, a Level I low‑risk birth unit delivering obstetrical, newborn, and pediatric care with family‑centered approach and single‑room maternity care. Care teams work within an environment that supports Orem’s self‑care philosophy and collaborative nursing practice.

- Setting:
Level I Birthing Center with obstetric, newborn and pediatric care in a hospital‑based unit
- Assess the health status of individuals and groups, establish nursing diagnoses, identify goals, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate responses to care.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for obstetrical patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages, as well as newborn stabilization and normal newborn care; pediatric patients in the perinatal period.
- Support cesarean births and postoperative recovery within the Birthing Center; assist with epidurals, administer medications, and monitor maternal‑fetal status; perform venipuncture and IV care as needed.
- Document thoroughly in electronic charting; collaborate with the care team to ensure timely, evidence‑based care; educate patients and families in line with family‑centered care principles.
- Implement care plans aligned with Orem’s self‑care theory and the unit’s single‑room maternity care model; provide safe, patient‑centered discharge planning.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Vermont
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- 1+ year of current LDRP experience; 400+ deliveries per year preferred
- Experience with cesarean sections, epidurals, electronic charting, and venipuncture preferred
- Travel experience highly preferred
- AFM, NRP, and STABLE certifications can be obtained during onboarding
- Submission requirements: resume; skills checklist for the discipline (within the last year); two supervisory references from the last two years
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 13‑week contract duration
- Night shift coverage (3x12‑hour shifts)
- Travel assignment with dedicated onboarding for obstetric specialty competencies as applicable
