American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (L&D) position at a Level 1 low-risk Birthing Center in Brattleboro, VT, requiring at least 1 year of LDRP experience and an active VT or compact RN license.

• Level 1 low-risk Birthing Center utilizing single room maternity care (LDRP model)
• Patient population includes antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum obstetrical patients, clean female surgical cases, normal newborn care, newborn stabilization, and pediatric patients during the perinatal period
• Cesarean births are performed and recovered within the Birthing Center
• Nursing staff may be assigned to support therapeutic abortions performed on other units based on staffing availability
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
• Weekend schedule to be determined by the facility
• On-call schedule to be determined by the facility
• 13-week contract

• Active RN license issued by the State of Vermont or a valid compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of current LDRP experience required; experience in a unit with 400+ deliveries per year preferred
• Experience with C-sections, epidurals, venipuncture, and electronic charting preferred
• Active AFM (Advanced Fetal Monitoring) certification highly preferred
• Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification highly preferred
• Active S.T.A.B.L.E. certification highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Skills checklist specific to L&D (completed within the last year) required for consideration
• 2 supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment required for consideration

• Care is delivered incorporating Orem's theory of self-care and a family-centered care philosophy
• Care may be provided on both inpatient and outpatient status
• AFM, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. certifications may be obtained during onboarding if not currently held
• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested for this contract
