Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN) reports to the Wound Care Center Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator and is responsible for delivering direct patient care as well as managing intake and discharge processes for Wound Care Center patients.

The RN may also act as a Case Manager for a specified group of patients, depending on the Center’s configuration.

• Provide patient care to Wound Care Center patients and manage patient intake and discharge procedures in accordance with hospital and nursing standards.
• Assist in the vein clinic after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training.
• Serve as a Case Manager for assigned patients, which includes:
  • Performing the initial nursing assessment
  • Communicating findings with the assigned physician
  • Assessing wound stage and measurements
  • Documenting care plans
  • Evaluating patient status relative to desired outcomes
  • Identifying patient care situations that require intervention
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, provide patient or caregiver education, and advocate for patients in the delivery and coordination of care.
• Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) related duties as assigned upon completion of Healogics hyperbaric training; may also become a hyperbaric safety director after required training.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center providers, Program Director, and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
• Function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) per Healogics policy.
• Execute other duties as required.

• Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current RN license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Medical Surgical, Home Health, or Wound Care Certification preferred.
• Wound care experience preferred.

• Competency in BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Strong organization, prioritization and time‑management skills.
• Basic knowledge of regulatory, accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills, including presentation and translation of technical terms into lay language.
• Customer service and follow-up skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
