Position SummaryThe Food Hub Driver (FHD) is the public face of a community-oriented food distribution network, responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, undamaged pickup and delivery of all Food Hub products. All FHDs must be comfortable on the road for extended hours, and have consistently exceptional organizational skills, record-keeping skills, and attention to detail while providing top notch customer service.
Core Competencies- Technical Expertise: Familiarity and confidence driving large vehicles, box delivery trucks, or other comparably-sized vehicles.

The ability to ensure that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed. - Attention Detail: The ability to carefully check paperwork for accurate deliveries and pickups.

- Ensure safe, timely, and undamaged pickup and delivery of all Food Hub products in vehicles as large as a 24-foot reefer box truck.
- Maintain cheerful, positive, and professional customer service while on route.
- Inspect and verify the contents and quality of all Food Hub products during pickup.
- Identify and evaluate food safety risks using Safe Food Handling training (training provided by Food Connects)
- Quickly communicate issues to the Food Hub Operations Manager.
- Maintain detailed records and paperwork as needed for regulatory compliance.
- Monitor the condition of all truck and refrigeration components.
- Report issues to the Food Hub Operations Manager and Fleet & Facilities Manager.
- Perform daily food safety and sanitation-related route and vehicle tasks.
- Complete required daily food safety and sanitation records.
- Provide partners with excellent customer service.
- Maintain detailed records for all work activities.
- Attend regular check-ins with the Food Hub Operations Manager and provide proactive and constructive feedback to aid in continuous improvement.
- Participate in annual self-review.
- Conduct peer reviews of other staff members as requested.
- Assist with training Food Hub staff as well as other duties as needed.

Work Conditions- The position is based in the Food Connects Food Hub facility in Brattleboro, VT.
