Streets and Utilities Temporary Worker

Job Description

Under direct supervision under the Leadman and or Utility Worker II, participates and performs a wide variety of maintenance tasks in the construction and repair of streets and relative facilities. Report to:
This position reports to and receives direction from the Streets and Utilities Supervisor and or the Utilities Leadman

Examples of Duties

Examples of Duties:

Assists in the installation and replacement of water distributions and wastewater collections pipe lines including water and sewer laterals.

Assists in repairing water and sewer line breaks.

Assists in the reading and replacement of water meters as required.

Assists in the repairs and replacement of concrete sections for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains, ramps and driveways.

Uses power equipment and hand tools such as jackhammers, power saws, pipe wrenches, ratchets, concrete saws, generators, cutters, tampers, water pumps, tapping machines, impact tools.

Assists with the flushing and vacuuming main sewer lines and maintains sewer manholes.

Performs emergency maintenance work and assists other water and sewer field crews as assigned.

Assist with asphalt repairs as directed.

Typical Qualifications

Qualification guidelines Training, Experience and Certifications Requirements:
Equivalent to a high school diploma. Valid California Driver's License is required;
Class B license preferred.
