Streets And Utilities Worker
Under direct supervision under the Leadman and or Utility Worker II, participates and performs a wide variety of maintenance tasks in the construction and repair of streets and relative facilities. Report to:
This position reports to and receives direction from the Streets and Utilities Supervisor and or the Utilities Leadman
Examples of Duties:
- Assists in the installation and replacement of water distributions and wastewater collections pipe lines including water and sewer laterals.
- Assists in repairing water and sewer line breaks.
- Assists in the reading and replacement of water meters as required.
- Assists in the repairs and replacement of concrete sections for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains, ramps and driveways.
- Uses power equipment and hand tools such as jackhammers, power saws, pipe wrenches, ratchets, concrete saws, generators, cutters, tampers, water pumps, tapping machines, impact tools.
- Assists with the flushing and vacuuming main sewer lines and maintains sewer manholes.
- Performs emergency maintenance work and assists other water and sewer field crews as assigned.
- Assist with asphalt repairs as directed.

Typical QualificationsQualification guidelines Training, Experience and Certifications Requirements:
Equivalent to a high school diploma. Valid California Driver's License is required;
Class B license preferred.
