Description
A Britt Aero CMM Programmer is responsible for the creation and validation of Coordinate-Measuring Machine (CMM) programs used to inspect precision machined product. The CMM programmer leans on tight tolerance experience and utilizes measurement solving techniques to create CMM inspection programs used to verify part dimensions, support inspection processes, and ensure parts meet engineering and customer requirements.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain CMM programs to inspect machined components.
- Review and validate new or revised CMM programs prior to release.
- Review CMM Reports; decipher and report quality abnormalities.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans to verify basic GD&T dimensions.
- Perform First Article, Final, and In-Process Inspections and maintain Inspection Reports and other quality documents as required.
- Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming product, as necessary.
- Perform shop‑floor inspections through the use of a portable measurement machine (FARO Arm or similar), as required.
- Create and maintain programs for the Collaborative Robot Inspection cell. Perform set‑up and part loading, as required. Perform trouble shooting, as necessary.
- Create and maintain CMM programs used to calibrate/verify internal Check Gages used to buy‑off product. Perform validation inspections, as required.
- Perform Surface Plate Lay‑Out Inspections, as needed.
- Work with Quality, Process, and Tooling Engineers, as necessary, to ensure product compliance.
- Experience in Inspection (3+ Years) with a CMM Programming background is required.
- Proficient in reading detailed drawings with an excellent understanding of GD&T.
- Highly skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments, such as but not limited to: micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, indicators, etc.
- Must possess advanced mechanical and mathematical knowledge.
- Most possess a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
