Quality Inspector

Britt Aero Inspectors are responsible for the inspection and verification of product and material conformance to customer requirements. Through the use of precision measuring instruments and Coordinate-Measuring Machines (CMM), inspectors will perform a variety of inspections, including but not limited to Surface Plate Lay-out Inspections, In-Process Inspections, Final Inspections, First Article Inspection, Visual Inspections, etc., to verify product conformance to customer drawings and specifications.

• Perform inspections through the use of a CMM and/or other calibrated precision measuring instruments.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans.
• Decipher pertinent details from customer prints and specifications to maintain inspection reports and other quality documents as required.
• Decipher and report quality abnormalities.
• Aid in the identification, segregation, and documentation of non-conforming product as required.
• Assist Quality and Process Engineers as necessary.
• Set-up gages used to verify product conformance.
• Recommend process improvement activities to enhance quality and customer satisfaction.
• Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

• Experience with machining, fabrication, welding, forming, and processing, specifically in the Aerospace Industry is strongly preferred.
• Must demonstrate competency in reading detailed drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T, and specification interpretation.
• Must have the ability to use and read precision measuring instruments, such as but not limited to: micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, indicators, etc.
• Must possess fundamental mechanical and mathematical knowledge.
• Must be result oriented and able to work in both an individual and team-oriented environment.
• Must possess a high degree of organizational and communication skills.
