The Senior Accountant position at Sackett Financial Group plays an integral role for our accounting firm. Our clients represent a wide variety of professions and industries and look to us to be their trusted advisor, so this position requires delivering exceptional expertise while also providing clients with a caring and comfortable experience.
We are looking for an outstanding professional who seeks to improve the businesses and lives of our clients; a candidate who is analytical, driven, efficient and possesses the skills necessary to work successfully with a wide variety of clients and industries.
This position is responsible for providing accurate and timely preparation of clients’ financial statements, journal entries, reconciliation of general ledgers and payroll processing, payroll reports and compliance for our clients.
Accounting Responsibilities- Bank and account reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger, fixed assets, and preparation of financial statements
- Maintain monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting and reporting for our clients including Quick Books entries, A/P, A/R, payroll journal entries
- Process multi‑state sales tax and property tax returns
- Prepare and process Forms 1099/1096
- Interfacing with clients in a professional manner
- Process payroll for various clients in various industries
- Reviews payroll data supplied by clients for accuracy
- Prepare and process quarterly and annual federal and state payroll tax returns
- Prepare and process Forms W‑2/W‑3
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations
- Onboarding of new clients and assess clients’ payroll needs and identify solutions
- Maintains knowledge of federal, state and local payroll administration laws and regulations and best practices
- Provides ongoing and timely communication with clients and with team and management
- Preparation of response notices to IRS, FTB or EDD
- 3+ years of public accounting experience
- 3+ years of Quick Books experience
- Experience in Accounting and Payroll processing for multi‑clients
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Office 365, Excel and Word
- Compliance experience:
Sales Tax and Property Tax filings - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships with a dedication to superior client service
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and multiple clients independently
- Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
- Superior project management skills with experience managing multiple clients and engagements as well as competing priorities
- Highly detail oriented and resourceful
- Ability to be a team player who can also work independently

- Compensation range: $70,000-$90,000 per year DOE

This is an in‑office Monday‑Friday (and Saturdays during busy season) position. This position does not offer remote or hybrid work.
