Overview
HR Assistant — Pay Rate: $25/hour.
Location:
Brea, CA (onsite). We are seeking an entry-level HR Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in Human Resources or someone with prior administrative experience who is interested in transitioning into HR.
The HR Assistant will support the HR team with day-to-day administrative functions and employee support tasks. Our team is still building internal procedures, so this role requires someone who is adaptable, patient, and comfortable in an evolving environment where processes may shift frequently.
Key Responsibilities- Distribute and track benefits enrollment forms
- Review and follow up on employee timecards
- Collect and document doctor s notes and employee documentation
- Answer incoming calls and respond to general HR inquiries
- Monitor and manage the shared HR inbox
- Support employee engagement efforts, including sending birthday gift cards and coordinating new-hire welcome gifts
- Assist with employment verification requests
- Send reminders to managers regarding performance review deadlines
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team
- Assist with data entry, filing, and maintaining employee records
- Support miscellaneous HR and office-related tasks as needed
- HR internship or 1+ year of administrative experience
- Strong Excel skills (basic formulas, data entry, tracking)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Organized and able to manage multiple small tasks
- Comfortable with routine, process-driven work
- Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
- Patient and able to go with the flow as procedures evolve
- Professional and dependable
- Fast-changing and growing team still establishing processes
- Collaborative HR department that relies on team support
- Best suited for someone who enjoys support work, structure, and helping others
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
