About the Role:

Nevell Group is seeking an organized, analytical, and experienced Risk Coordinator to support our Risk Management and Legal functions across workers’ compensation, claims administration, contract compliance, safety compliance, litigation support, and construction risk management.

This position will play a key role in overseeing workers’ compensation claims, coordinating claims administration across multiple lines of coverage, supporting contract review and compliance, tracking job rights documentation, assisting with litigation and legal matters, and monitoring contract-driven safety requirements.

The Risk Coordinator will work closely with the Risk Management/Legal Department Head, Director of Safety, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Project Management, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, brokers, outside counsel, General Contractors, and project teams. The Director of Safety retains responsibility for the Safety Department and field safety personnel, while this role will support contract-driven safety requirements, documentation, and compliance tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Risk Management & Legal Support:
    • Support the Risk Management/Legal Department Head with claims management, insurance matters, subpoenas, litigation support, and internal legal correspondence.
    • Coordinate contract review workflows for project agreements with General Contractors and second-tier subcontractors/vendors.
    • Gather scopes, exhibits, and supporting documentation; track revisions and ensure timely routing for review and execution.
    • Perform initial administrative reviews of contract terms and commercial exhibits, including risk and insurance requirements, schedules, scope references, and key obligations.
    • Identify and flag contract risks, deviations, and items requiring further review.
    • Draft and organize contract redlines and contract summaries for the Supervisor and project teams.
    • Maintain negotiation notes, correspondence, and executed agreement files.
    • Support master agreement administration, including maintaining templates, tracking renewal dates, and coordinating internal inputs.
    • Support job rights administration, including lien and stop payment documentation, preliminary notice tracking as applicable, deadline tracking, and file organization.
    • Assist Finance with accounts receivable risk tracking and collection support documentation.
    • Support outside legal counsel with document collection, deposition exhibits, discovery responses, and other litigation support activities.
    • Maintain litigation and claims calendars, including response deadlines, hearings, discovery dates, and reporting obligations.
    • Prepare first drafts of routine legal correspondence, records responses, and subpoena responses for Supervisor review.
    • Support compliance programs administered by the Risk Management and Legal Department, including DOT and wage-and-hour compliance documentation.
  • Workers’ Compensation & Claims Oversight:
    • Provide oversight of workers’ compensation claim handling through regular claim reviews with third-party administrators and insurance carriers.
    • Monitor claim status, reserves, treatment, resolution strategy, and claim outcomes.
    • Drive claims toward favorable resolution and elevate high-exposure or complex matters to the Supervisor.
    • Oversee injured employee communications, treatment coordination, return-to-work and modified-duty placement, and interactive process correspondence.
    • Coordinate with Operations, Human Resources, the Director of Safety, and other internal stakeholders regarding employee claims.
    • Serve as the day-to-day administrator for workers’ compensation and other claims, including intake, documentation, reporting, carrier/TPA/broker coordination, and internal follow-up.
    • Maintain open claim logs and review loss runs.
    • Identify recurring claim drivers, reserve movement, and program cost trends.
    • Report claim trends and recommend prevention and process improvements.
