Senior Estimator

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team and support the estimating function for construction projects. The main goal of this position is to provide accurate and competitive estimates with a high probability of award. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and has extensive construction estimating experience.

As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating and determining the approximate costs of construction and developing an Opinion of Probable Cost (estimate). This role requires substantial experience to price significant and prominent projects within the industry, and a deep understanding of construction trades, product types, building techniques, material and labor costs, and industry standards. • Review project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work.
• Analyze project proposals to determine costs and prepare detailed estimates.
• Communicate with project teams to clarify project details.
• Identify potential cost-saving measures and propose alternatives to clients.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
• Develop client relations and provide estimating services to support clients’ objectives.
• Collaborate with other departments and provide occasional support to project managers during the construction phase.
• Oversee multiple bids and conceptual estimates.

• Experience: 8+ years in construction estimating, and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline. Extensive knowledge of multiple product types and trades.
• Systems Knowledge: Proficient in Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Outlook, Zoom, AutoCAD (viewing).
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Proficient in construction estimating software and tools, reviewing and interpreting construction documents, reading and writing of technical specifications.
• Attributes: Logical, objective, inquisitive, punctual, perceptive, accomplished, resourceful, persistent, dedicated, pragmatic, articulate, seasoned, reliable, and intuitive.

• Reports to Senior VP of Preconstruction

• Desk and computer-based work.
• Inspect job sites: walk up to 1 mile and climb stairs.
• Lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
