Estimator Heavy Civil Construction
We are seeking a detail-oriented estimator to support operations in the Southern Region. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for both public and private infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Review plans, specifications, soils reports, and site conditions to define project scope
- Attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate bid requirements
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop complete cost estimates
- Manage pre-bid RFIs and track responses
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Support DBE compliance and good faith effort documentation
- Analyze project risks and contract requirements
- Maintain organized estimating files and historical cost data
- Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and procurement planning
- Support project handoff to operations teams after award
- Prepare and manage subcontracts and purchase orders
- Track post-bid timelines through contract awardli>
- Assist with change orders, cost tracking, and project support as needed
- Mentor junior staff and support business development efforts
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction (highway, rail, underground, paving, bridge, or airport projects)
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and takeoffs
- Experience with:
- Bid2
Win - Bluebeam
- AGTEK
- Sketch Up
- Primavera P6, Sure Trak, or MS Project
- Bid2
- Knowledge of scheduling, critical path, and cost control
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Valid driver's license required
- Salary: $80,000 $ 150,000 per year
