Civil Engineer – Contract Opportunity | Brea, CA

6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)

The Planet Group is seeking a Civil Engineer to support multidisciplinary design and construction projects across industries including power, healthcare, airports, industrial, commercial, governmental, manufacturing, and military facilities.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional project teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions from conceptual design through final construction documentation.

• Perform civil engineering design and analysis for new construction, renovation, and redevelopment projects
• Prepare, modify, and review production drawings and technical documentation
• Design civil systems and components based on project requirements
• Conduct engineering calculations, field inspections, and site measurements
• Support shop drawing reviews, client presentations, and contract administration activities
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and stakeholders throughout all project phases
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and engineering best practices

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering technology field from an ABET-accredited program
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 2–3+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably within a consulting environment
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, BIM/Revit, PLS, PLS‑CADD, RISA‑3D, MathCAD, and hydraulic/hydrologic analysis software
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
