A growing, niche manufacturing and finishing company serving precision-driven industries is entering a rebuild and growth phase and is hiring a hands-on finance leader to help build structure, visibility, and scalability across the accounting function.

You will work closely with ownership and operations and play a key role in shaping how the finance function evolves.
What Success Looks Like in the First 90–120 Days- Monthly financials completed accurately by the 15th of the following month
- Clean, reliable workflows across AP, AR, payroll inputs, and reporting
- Early dashboards and trend analysis supporting margin, pricing, and cash decisions
- Strong partnership established with ownership and the external CPA firm
- Lead the month-end close
, reconciliations, and financial reporting cadence - Maintain the general ledger, bank recs, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
- Partner with the external CPA firm to ensure clean books and year-end readiness
- Oversee the accounts payable workflow and ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time
- Implement practical internal controls to prevent duplicate payments, missed payments, and disruptions
- Improve documentation, organization, and audit readiness
- Coordinate timely filing and payment of sales & use tax and required state/local obligations
- Maintain a calendar-driven compliance process
- Build dashboards and trend reporting for margin, cash, and operational performance
- Support pricing review and margin discipline as costs and terms change
- Assist with cash forecasting and working capital visibility
- Operate effectively within the current ERP environment
- Help plan a staged path to integrate ERP outputs with Quick Books or similar accounting software
- Drive continuous improvement in workflows and reporting
- Work closely with ownership and operations leadership
- Provide oversight across AP, AR, payroll inputs, and purchasing coordination
- Collaborate with the company’s long-term CPA partner
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in manufacturing, job shop, distribution, or industrial services environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to run a close and improve processes in a lean organization
- Comfortable being hands-on while building structure and systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and a sense of urgency
- Advanced Excel required
- Quick Books experience strongly preferred
