Wholesale Mortgage Operations Director

We are seeking an experienced Wholesale Operations Director to lead loan operations in a broker-driven environment
. This role is responsible for overseeing the full wholesale loan lifecycle—from broker submission through closing and funding
.

The ideal candidate brings direct, recent experience in wholesale mortgage operations
, with the ability to lead teams, manage broker-facing workflows, and drive performance in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring immediate impact with minimal ramp time

• Team Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and manage processors, underwriters, and closers to drive performance and accountability
• Pipeline Management: Oversee loan pipeline to ensure timely processing and closings in alignment with service level agreements (SLAs)
• Broker-Facing Operations: Own operational delivery to third-party brokers, including escalations, service levels, and partnership with sales to retain and grow relationships
• Operational Excellence: Evaluate and improve workflows, turn times, and team efficiency in a high-volume wholesale environment
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Sales, Underwriting, and Secondary to ensure alignment and execution across the loan lifecycle
• Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to investor guidelines and regulatory requirements (TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA, Fair Lending)
• Quality Control: Review QC findings, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to reduce defects and improve loan quality

• 7+ years of recent wholesale mortgage experience (required)
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing mortgage operations teams in a wholesale environment (required)
• Direct oversight of broker-facing operations and third-party originations (required)
  Demonstrated leadership across processing, underwriting, and closing functions (required)
• Strong understanding of the wholesale loan lifecycle, including broker submission, underwriting, conditions, and funding
• Proven ability to manage high-volume pipelines and meet aggressive SLAs
• Hands‑on experience with LOS platforms such as Encompass (or similar)
• Deep knowledge of mortgage regulations (TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA, Fair Lending)
• Ability to work onsite in Brea, CA

• Experience in a high-volume wholesale lending environment
• Strong background supporting multiple loan products (Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, Non-QM)
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, turn times, and scalability
• Experience partnering closely with broker sales teams and managing broker relationships
• Experience leading teams of 8+ employees
