HR Assistant
Location: Brea, CA (On-site)

Vaco is partnering with a client in Brea to identify an HR Assistant who is open to coming from an administrative background and interested in growing within Human Resources. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or an experienced administrator looking to transition into HR and gain hands‑on experience across a variety of people operations functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Distribute, collect, and track benefits enrollment forms for new hires and current employees
  • Review employee timecards to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain and organize HR documentation, including personnel files and doctor’s notes
  • Answer incoming HR-related phone calls and provide basic support or route inquiries appropriately
  • Monitor and manage the shared HR inbox, responding to inquiries or escalating as needed
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, such as coordinating birthday gift cards and welcome gifts
  • Assist with employment verifications and process requests in a timely manner
  • Send reminders to managers regarding performance reviews and follow up as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including filing, data entry, and internal communications
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and evolving workflows as internal HR processes continue to develop
Qualifications
  • Recent graduate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR at least 1 year of administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including maintaining spreadsheets and working with data
  • Strong written communication skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain flexible and effective in a fast?changing environment
  • Patient, adaptable, and comfortable navigating evolving procedures
  • Reliable, professional, and proactive work style
