Production Manager
Responsibilities
The Production Planning Supervisor schedules, coordinates, and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. The role will oversee at least 4 direct reports covering 3V and F300 (sheet metal) factory.
As a Production Planning Supervisor you will:
- Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements.
- Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite material flow to meet the production schedule.
- Execute MRB messages to push, pull, or release work orders and release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for kit picking.
- Collaborate with appropriate teams to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met; create action plans and ensure follow‑through and completion of actions.
- Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages and notify sales of any schedule impacts to customers.
- Proactively coordinate and expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Follow all policies and procedures; initiate changes to existing processes to improve overall effectiveness.
- Apply knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Proficiently use computer systems and software applications; depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software is preferred.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; take action and bring solutions to meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet department and facility goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with both theoretical and practical experience in the field.
- Minimum of 7+ years Production Planning experience, with at least 5 years in manufacturing.
- Experience supervising 3–5 direct reports.
- Enterprise Resource Planning or Material Resource Planning experience is required.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Demonstrated capability working with the Microsoft Office suite; proficient in Excel formulas, look‑ups, and pivot tables. Query capability is a plus.
The base pay range for this position in California is $110,000 – $135,000 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
