Living Hope Community Church is an evangelical, non-denominational, independent church located in Brea, CA. Our mission is “to challenge a new generation to become committed followers of Jesus Christ,” and our vision is to be “a church to call home.” Founded in 1993, Living Hope is known for being a stable, biblically grounded, and welcoming church that provides a safe and nurturing environment for families.
The church offers vibrant, multi-generational ministries, including children, youth, college, single adults, young families, and older families.
Description:
The Assistant Director of Kid’s Ministry will be responsible for assisting the Director of Kid’s Ministry to oversee all aspects of leading the Living Hope Kids (K-5th) including but not limited to:
- Coordinating weekly small groups by communicating regularly with our team leads + teachers
- Leading our LH Kids Outreach program (CIA) - occurs 1x a month (includes preaching)
- Work alongside the Director of Kid’s Ministry to ensure a Gospel-centered service each Sunday and cultivate a prayerful and loving relationship amongst staff, children, and families
- Collaborating with other directors to execute CE programs such as VBS, Festafall, teacher’s training, etc.
- Evening meetings/prayer meetings - 1-2 times a month
- Staff on Duty – Sunday afternoon every quarter
- All church events (e.g. Good Friday Service, Christmas Eve service, etc.)
- All other duties expected of a pastoral staff member
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or the Senior Pastor

- Ability to teach Scripture clearly, accurately, and engagingly in a way that is age-appropriate for children
- Strong leadership and relational skills, with the ability to recruit, support, and work with ministry volunteers
Experience serving in children's ministry or working with children in a church, educational, or related ministry setting - Commitment to partnering with parents and volunteers in the spiritual development of children
- Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills
- Ability to coordinate volunteers, schedules, and ministry logistics with attention to detail
- Willingness to use or learn church technologies, digital communication tools, and social media platforms
- Ability to collaborate effectively with ministry staff, volunteers, and families to support the overall vision of the children's ministry and church body
- Status:
Ministerial Exception, Part-Time, 10-15 hours per week - Salary: $ plus Professional Expense Fund, commensurate with education and experience
