Job SummaryThe Test Engineer role is a key position responsible for defining and executing test procedures to validate and improve product behavior and reliability. This includes feature validation, bug fix verification, identifying and reporting problems, triaging issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and execute test cases and procedures to validate intricate product features and functionality
- Independently identify, document, and articulate bugs with precision and reproducibility
- Lead collaboration across cross-functional teams to define and achieve comprehensive test coverage aligned with product strategy
- Drive validation of new product features, ensuring adherence to design specifications and user requirements
- Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing, integrating automation where applicable
- Lead triaging and root cause analysis of complex issues, prioritizing resolutions effectively
- Innovate and implement enhancements to testing methodologies, tools, and workflows to improve quality
- Maintain meticulous documentation of test plans, results, and known issues
- Utilize advanced testing tools and software to optimize team efficiency and adapt to evolving frameworks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of software testing principles and processes
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools and test management software
- Ability to write clear and concise test cases and documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a cross-functional team
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, and processes related to software testing
- Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages is a plus
- Familiarity with automation tools or willingness to learn is a bonus
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to ensuring product quality
- Experience (6-10 years) in software testing or related roles with leadership in testing and quality initiatives
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing automated testing frameworks and suites
- Advanced experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) and integrating automation into CI/CD
- Strong API testing experience with tools like Postman, SoapUI, or REST-assured
- Ability to mentor and guide junior/mid-level testers
- Proven success leading testing efforts for complex projects across functional, regression, and performance testing
The starting pay range is $97,500 - $117,000 per year; base pay may vary by level, skills, experience, knowledge, and location.
