The Fitness Manager (FM) is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience, both personally and through coach supervision. FM’s are responsible for delivering great member service and private training & supplement revenue. As needed, they address member issues, employee relations issues, and oversee scheduling and timekeeping activities. On a regular basis, they communicate and enforce Company and Club policies and procedures.
FM’s are responsible for the successful attainment of revenue goals pertaining to private training and supplements.
- Staffing and Development:
Recruit, hire, train and develop a strong team of coaches and potential leaders; maintain a fully engaged, high-performing Personal Training/MMA team aligned with company values and goals. - Club Administration:
Ensure coaches are productive and revenue/service goals communicated; set daily/weekly/monthly goals; conduct meetings with coaches; handle member service matters, tours, sign-ups; mediate member issues; oversee scheduling and timekeeping; alert operations staff of repairs; conduct daily facility walk‑throughs; comply with operational procedures; follow compliance checks. - Sell and Conduct Personal Training:
Assist members on the floor; encourage private training involvement; accurately administer client programs, supplement purchases, measurement tracking, and workout programs; arrive prepared; assist with revenue‑generating activities (workouts, supplement booths, body‑fat tables, seminars); sell training sessions; execute prospecting strategy; manage sales turnover; achieve monthly revenue objectives; review sales performance; administer sales policies; schedule and manage appointments; coordinate client sessions; maintain scheduling records;
handle appointment setting and rescheduling.
The Fitness Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Fitness. The Fitness Manager will communicate and enforce all policy and procedures with the Fitness Team. Duties require interaction with all club members and employees.
Required Qualifications- Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- In depth knowledge of personal training techniques from assessment to program design.
- Working knowledge of the DotFIT program and software.
- Ability to operate and adjust all fitness equipment.
- Knowledge of company policies, practices and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude.
- Strong customer service focus; responds professionally to guests, members, and staff.
- Understanding of oral and written instructions; communicates clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills; understands basic record‑keeping practices; can organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Computer proficient with basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Required Experience:
- Minimum of one certification from an organization recognized by UFC Gym.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four‑year degree in a related field recognized by UFC Gym (preferred).
- Minimum one year of related experience.
- Experience in management/employee relations preferred.
- Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand while performing duties.
- Must lift, squat, bend, reach, spot, and walk; frequently lift or move up to 45+ lbs.
