Position Overview

Mathematics Teacher (Grades 9-12) – Job . Position Type:
High School Teaching/Mathematics.

St. Martin Parish Schools District Office.

Key Qualifications
  • Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Secondary Mathematics (Grades 6-12) per Louisiana Department of Education guidelines (Bulletin 746).
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Mathematics, Secondary Education, or related field.
  • 2+ years of teaching experience preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of Louisiana Student Standards for Mathematics (algebra, geometry, functions, statistics, problem-solving).
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Effective classroom management and data-driven instruction abilities.
Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and deliver student-centered instruction in accordance with state standards and district curriculum.
  • Plan and prepare instructional units, activities, and assessments aligned with Louisiana Student Standards.
  • Establish and enforce behavioral expectations, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Utilize differentiated instruction, RTI, and intervention plans to support at-risk students.
  • Administer regular assessments and provide timely feedback to promote student learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, lesson plans, and student progress.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and staff regarding student progress and school events.
  • Assist school administration in implementing policies, supervising student conduct, and ensuring safety.
  • Participate in professional development, planning meetings, and professional learning communities.
  • Serve on special committees as required and provide leadership for extracurricular activities.
Professional Conduct

Maintain a professional appearance, timely attendance, confidentiality, and adherence to district and state regulations. Support district initiatives, remain open to feedback, and pursue continuous professional growth.
