General Purpose of PositionThe Assistant Branch Manager assists the Branch Manager in efforts to reach profit, performance, and customer service goals. The Assistant Branch Manager oversees banking services, especially customer service, to ensure excellence.
Summary of Responsibilities- Assisting in the management of day-to-day activities of the branch with the primary responsibility focusing upon efficient and effective operations
- Assisting in the development of the branch staff through coaching sessions
- Solicits and identifies potential customers through counter transactions, incoming telephone inquiries as well as prospecting target customers.
- Performing Teller Duties
- Ensures staff is knowledgeable of bank products and services and encourages customer engagement to identify and promote referral opportunities
- Maintains required security, operational, and service quality standards
- Coordinates with Information Technology (I.T.) personnel to ensure that bank systems are running efficiently and effectively
- Scheduling of staff
- Delegating duties
- Providing effective feedback
- Proficient in computer skills (excel, word, ten key, typing, etc.)
- May perform additional duties in the absence of the Branch Manager
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of front-line banking experience required
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent math and accounting skills
- Excellent personal and professional leadership skills
- Understanding of banking regulatory matters
- Ability to perform various banking procedures and operations
- Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure
