Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company Overview Devgru, LLC is a structural steel fabrication company dedicated to delivering high-quality products to specification, on-time, and on-budget while prioritizing total safety. Guided by core values of integrity, trust, discipline, sense of urgency, and accountability. We foster employee growth, continuous improvement through "The Algorithm" for problem-solving, and adherence to industry standards such as AISC, AWS, and OSHA. Our mission is to be the premier provider in our industry, building trust through consistent execution of core principles.

Job Summary We are seeking skilled Structural Steel Fabricators to perform shop-based welding, fitting, and assembly in a production environment. The role requires precision work to meet project specifications, contribute to quality goals (e.g., reducing defects by 20% annually and weld imperfections below 5%), and support on-time delivery (95% target). Fabricators must align with our non-negotiable expectations: implement core values and principles, execute responsibilities with laser focus, and participate in daily safety and training processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural welding in a shop setting, including fitting, tacking, and full welding as specified in architectural drawings, maintaining tolerances of 1/16 inch.
  • Use torches to cut and cope materials accurately when necessary.
  • Operate forklifts safely to transport materials and products.
  • Dress welds to resolve imperfections (buckshot, arc marks, unwanted slices, factory coatings).
  • Conduct self-verification of fabricated parts for quality, accuracy, and quantity before referring to the Quality Control Verification Team.
  • Participate in daily safety information training meetings, weekly toolbox talks, and quality reviews to achieve zero safety incidents and 100% training completion.
  • Adhere to PPE requirements (hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, safety harnesses) and report hazards, near-misses, or incidents immediately.
  • Implement "The Algorithm" to question processes, eliminate unnecessary steps, simplify operations, accelerate cycle times, and solve bottlenecks for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain housekeeping, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards during all tasks.
  • Contribute to key performance indicators, including labor hours per ton of steel and deliveries per week.
  • Take direction effectively, demonstrate a positive attitude, and uphold core values in all interactions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience performing structural welding and fabrication in a production-style shop environment.
  • Ability to pass a weld test.
  • Experience using torches for cutting and coping.
  • Forklift operation experience or certification.
  • Familiarity with tools such as iron workers, mag drills, press brakes, shears, band saws, plasma table and coping bots.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and architectural drawings.
  • Commitment to safety protocols, with understanding of OSHA requirements.
  • Strong attendance record; ability to work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
  • Positive attitude, ability to take direction, and alignment with core values (integrity, trust, discipline, sense of urgency, accountability).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification (e.g., AWS D1.1) preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing; subject to random, post-accident, or reasonable suspicion testing.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing setting.

Please, No Staffing Agency Solicitation.
