Position: Administrative Support I

This proactive, customer-oriented team member serves as integral support to departmental needs. The position performs data entry and clerical duties that affect assessor staff, various county departments, as well as the public. Responsibilities can vary depending on the assessment calendar and include assisting and answering taxpayer questions, property research, mail processing and distribution, processing parcel splits and combines, new subdivision creation, property conveyances, processing documents from the recordings of the Clerk and Recorder, assisting in processing map and situs address changes, scanning archival documents, assisting in processing Personal Property Declaration schedules, researching ownership issues and discrepancies, and working with other departments and jurisdictions as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Data entry and clerical duties supporting assessor staff and county departments.
  • Answer taxpayer inquiries and conduct property research.
  • Process parcel splits, combines, new subdivisions, conveyances and mapping/address changes.
  • Retrieve, scan and process archival and recorded documents.
  • Assist with Personal Property Declaration schedules.
  • Research ownership issues and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other departments and jurisdictions as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (required).
  • Minimum of two years of general clerical experience in an office environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, internet, and general computer use.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and initiative.
  • Thoroughness, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to understand and follow processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; pleasant phone manners; ability to handle public interactions effectively.
  • Cooperative team player, high customer‑service orientation, patience and composure in difficult situations.
  • Self‑motivation and initiative; willingness to learn and use appropriate resources.
  • Title research experience or general knowledge of real estate (legal descriptions, conveyance requirements, mapping) is desirable but not required.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
