Manager of Competition Services – Winter 2026/27

Job Overview

The Manager of Competition Services is responsible for developing and executing all elements of special events and competitions at Breckenridge Ski Resort, supporting daily set‑up and tear‑down of Ski and Snowboard School operations. This role oversees day‑to‑day operations of the Competition Services Department and Mountain Operations Department, working with stakeholders to deliver results that align with strategic operational and marketing goals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Hire, train, schedule, and manage staff performance to meet department goals.
  • Manage the department’s financial performance, accountable for results.
  • Lead capital projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Participate in event planning and provide coordination and operational support for marketing events and public relations requests, including nationally televised competitions.
  • Coordinate mountain events (alpine racing, freestyle, big‑mountain) and coordinate training activities and hill‑space allocations with mountain operations and ski clubs.
  • Execute contracts with third parties in accordance with company legal standards.
  • Manage safety and guest‑service expectations, including snowmobile use, venue set‑up, equipment use, and event‑course safety.
  • Oversee daily set‑up and tear‑down of Ski and Snowboard School on mountain venues.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic Microsoft Office / Outlook skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of organization, attention to detail, and professional conduct; self‑starter, ambitious, and multi‑tasker

Preferred:

  • College degree
  • Expert level skier
  • Experience executing events, timing racing events, using timing software, and producing competition results
  • Prior resort operations experience
  • Snowmobile operation experience
  • USSA certification
