Pay Status: Exempt

Hiring Pay Range: $105,000 - $115,000 (candidates will be hired within this range)

Full Pay Range: $105,000 - $132,000+ performance bonus eligible

Job Summary

The Development and Communications Director provides strategic leadership for all fundraising, donor relations, marketing, and communications efforts s role is responsible for generating revenue to support an annual operating budget of $7M+ while strengthening FIRC’s visibility, reputation, and community impact.

The Director oversees a multidisciplinary team currently comprising a Development & Events Manager, Grants Manager, Marketing Coordinator, and leads work across four core areas:

  • Lead relationship development strategy and donor portfolio management to steward and grow individual, foundation, corporate, and government revenue
  • Oversight of the development and execution of innovative fundraising events, strategies, and campaigns
  • Management of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies to advance FIRC’s mission and impact
  • Foundational administration of fundraising‑related data systems, infrastructure, best practices, and standard operating procedures

We are looking for a

Primary Duties
  • Supervise Development and marketing staff, providing strengths‑based leadership, accountability, performance management, time‑card, scheduling, and PTO oversight; these responsibilities require consistent in‑person presence.
  • Coordinate multi‑channel fundraising and awareness campaigns in partnership with the Development and marketing staff, Executive Director, and Development committee, including strategy input, material development, implementation, dissemination, and reporting.
  • Lead marketing, communications, and public relations execution to communicate FIRC’s story and program impact, including impact reports, media outreach, and public‑facing materials.
  • Oversee the grant‑funding strategy, ensuring alignment with overall funding goals by providing high‑level support to the Grants Manager throughout the grant‑cycle process.
  • In collaboration with the Development & Events Manager, plan and support donor and volunteer engagement activities, including three signature fundraising events and volunteer celebrations, and more, which may require occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Meet in person with donors and prospects to steward relationships and confidently make fundraising asks.
  • Write and oversee persuasive fundraising appeals and donor communications, including follow‑up and stewardship messaging.
  • Maintain oversight of FIRC’s website (Word Press), email marketing (Mailchimp), and social media platforms (Meta Business Suite), donor management and accounting system (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT & Financial Edge NXT), volunteer database (Bloomerang), and client database (Salesforce) to ensure accurate, relevant, and bilingual…
