Summit School District is seeking a .85 Substance Use Counselor to support students across Summit High School and Snowy Peaks High School. This is a grant funded, interim position within the schools' coordinated student support team.

The Substance Use Counselor supports students experiencing substance use concerns and partners closely with their families. Working across Summit High School and Snowy Peaks High School as part of a coordinated student support team, this role provides intervention and counseling services, connects students to community resources, and helps build a culture of wellness across both campuses.

• Provide individual and group intervention sessions with students referred for substance use concerns (e.g., Teen Intervene).
• Conduct screenings and assessments to identify student substance use needs and connect students to appropriate levels of care.
• Foster relationships with families to better connect them to support resources.
• Coordinate with community mental health and substance use providers, including participation in community huddles and other meetings as appropriate.

• Active CDE special service provider (SSP) license or the ability to obtain (ability to obtain includes converting a relevant counseling authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado, or substance use disorder credential (e.g., LPC, LAC) to a CDE SSP license as applicable).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $62,779 Per Year
