How You’ll Make an Impact

The Warehouse Operations and Center of Excellence (COE) Specialist is an individual contributor role managing warehouse operations for Lubrizol’s Third‑Party Logistics (3PL) providers across North America. The role ensures compliance with company standards and regulations, drives continuous improvement in safety, service, quality, and productivity, and establishes best‑in‑class processes.

As the Global Process Owner for warehouse and shipping activities under the Logistics Center of Excellence (COE), the specialist optimizes global logistics performance through improved systems, processes, governance, and services, and increases end‑user capability through education and support. The role leads through influence rather than direct people management, requiring strong collaboration, attention to detail, and partnership with regional warehouse teams and organizational stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

Regional Warehouse Operations
  • Establish and implement vendor management programs, including KPI creation, monitoring, and performance improvement.
  • Serve as the main vendor contact for issue escalation and resolution, including audits and site visits.
  • Maintain up-to-date best practice and standard process documentation with vendors; benchmark and apply industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Trade & Transport Compliance and Logistics Procurement teams on regulations, sourcing strategy, and contract negotiations.
  • Work with Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure operational requirements and cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage purchase requisitions, audits, and vendor invoice approvals.
  • Lead initiatives and projects to improve cost, service, and employee productivity.
Global Process Owner (COE)
  • Develop and document logistics processes/procedures globally with input from subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Assess and standardize business processes across regions; identify and implement best practices and improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT on system enhancements for warehouse and shipping activities.
  • Assist with integration for new warehouses and acquisitions.
  • Develop expertise in Order Management, Logistics Procurement, SAP TM, WMS, and Freight Audit & Payment.
  • Represent the team on the Global Labeling Team (LCAT); provide backup for Logistics Analyst as needed.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics/Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, and/or logistics procurement, including 3PL or vendor management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment with strong attention to detail, prioritization, organization, and follow‑through
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across internal teams and external partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and analytical tools
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and diplomatic skills, with a continuous‑improvement mindset
  • Ability to travel domestically on an occasional basis (up to ~10%) to support warehouse operations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward
  • Master’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Professional certification (e.g., APICS CLTD or similar)
  • Experience with SAP, particularly Transportation Management (TM)
